Why a bar, not a bottle
The quiet argument for a solid object over a plastic pump.
Most face cleansers arrive the same way: a plastic bottle, a plastic pump, a formula that is mostly water shipped around the world in that plastic. We wanted to make something that did less of that.
A bar is the oldest format there is. It carries no water weight, needs no pump, and arrives in a paper wrap that you can drop in the recycling or the compost. It sits on a dish by the sink and asks for nothing.
There is also something to be said for the object itself. A bar has a shape and a weight. You pick it up, you warm it between your hands. It is a small, physical thing in a routine that has otherwise gone the way of plastic and disposability. We think that matters.
So Solène is one bar, cold-pressed and hand-cut, wrapped in paper. No bottle, no pump, no plastic. It is a small decision, but we made it on purpose.
